Hello friends! I am super excited to be part of the Kindness Hop over on Instagram where many crafters are coming together to share in their love of crafting and card making. I think we all have a “why”. For me it’s to give back to a community that was so kind to me and uplifted me when I was in a low point. I had one very special friend who kindly sent me cards weekly for a year when I was going through an illness. I don’t think she even knows that she changed my trajectory each and every time.
Now that I am better, I try to send out 30-50 cards each month because I want my family and friends to know that I think of them often and love them very much. I’d love to know if you send out cards frequently or make them for certain things. I’m always looking for more ways to share the love!
Here’s a little about how Bearly Art contributes to the community and you can go check them out on your own too! #CardsForCubs is a card drive where they distribrute cards to foster care agencies. Last year 6500 cards were donated by 750 volunteers, anyone can participate in the program. The drive for 2021 just ended in March so keep your eye out for upcoming events.
Onto my card!
I decided on a mini slimline card for my design today, measuring 3.5 in x 6.5 inches. I know there’s some debate on what the measurements should be, but that’s what I went with. I used a digital stamp from Joy Clair Designs called, Pamper Yourself. I printed the camera image onto smooth cardstock and colored it with Copics. I wanted to add a little bling around the lens dial, so I used an embossing pen and added Wow Zeus ep. I just loved this sentiment because I think it is perfect for a kindness hop and decided to add it with a banner die from FSJ. I most definitely used Bearly Art glue for all of my adhesive needs today. A little tip for those of us who love to pop stuff up for dimension, but can’t getting anything straight! Add a little Bearly art glue to the foam and it gives you just enough wiggle room to line things up properly!!! That just about sums up my project….
