Hi and welcome back to my crafty place. I have a friend who is an avid junk journaler, who is slowly pulling me in. I have coffee dyed papers a long time ago and did nothing with them, but today seems like a good day to start. Polkadoodles digital downloads make Christmas Junk Journal Easy! You know what else is great about today? That’s right it is DigiChoosday… a new challenge and coupon code to Polkadoodles! For my design team project I chose to feature the Baked with Love- Gingerbread Baker. Let’s take a quick look at the cover of my journal…

To make this fun cover, I used an ordinary file folder that holds 8.5x 11 inch paper and folded it in half.

I folded the right inside corner down and then glued the bottom and short edge of the file to create a pocket. On the left side of the file I glued the top edge and bottom edge creating another pocket. After adding my layers of paper from the Baked With Paper Haven 1 digital download, I punched a half circle to create a tab for the pocket.

Decorating the folder was so easy using the beautiful Baked with Love Embellies digital downloads, that I printed and cut out using my scan n cut. What I love the most about Polkadoodles is that you can combine different collections and they blend seamlessly. I had some left over from previous projects so you will see some embellishments from the Winnie White Christmas Big Kahuna download kit and the Festive Words download.

My focal point of the front cover is the Gingerbread baker that I colored with Copics and mounted onto a pocket. To make my pocket, I cheated and added foam tape to three sides instead of using a gusset pocket. You do whatever makes you happy if you decide to recreate this.

I am not including pictures of the final book because I literally used left over scraps from the Baked with Love Paper Haven 1 and coffee dyed papers. I used my We R Memory Keepers Book Binding Guide Tool to sew them in place.
