Hi and welcome back to my crafty place. Today I have a beautiful card that depicts a King’s Journey across the Desert. This journey of course, is the story of Jesus and Christmas.
For my project I used the Mary, the Spirit of Christmas, and Three Kings and star stamp sets from Lavinia found in the Fairy Stamper Store! In my humble opinion, there is no better way to share Christmas, than the story of Jesus. If you want to know the story of Christmas, I encourage you to start here in the bible: Matthew 1:18-24.
My slimline card was fun to make as I ripped up scrap pieces of card stock to help build the hills and terrain of the dessert. For the sky I blended distress oxides in the colors Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. The sand was very easy to blend using the colors Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, and Frayed Burlap. I stamped the Lavnina stamps, Mary, Three Kings and Stars with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and clear heat embossed it. Once the scene was in place I added more shadows in the sand so the images are grounded. Finally, the Spirit of Christmas by Lavinia was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed in silver.
You’ll notice I popped up the sentiment, but it’s blended the same as the sky. I had an oopsy, but I don’t believe in starting over. I used the same ink blends and added the sentiment block. Such an easy fix… and you wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t told you.
The Fairy Stamper Store carries both Lavinia and Fairy Hugs stamps which coordinate beautifully together. Think of it as your one stop shopping experience for both brands and so much more!
Just a small disclaimer! All items used in all of my projects are (or have been) purchased with my own funds, but this does not include design team items that I have received or otherwise stated.
Please join us on the Fairy Stamper Facebook group for more inspiration from our design team and to share your makes. We love seeing what you’re up to!!
