Hi and welcome back to my crafty space! Today i have a darling lady bug project to share with you. If you have followed for any amount of time you know I love lady bugs, as that is my nickname for my oldest daughter. My gift tag is bound to make anyone smile, and who doesn’t need something to smile about these days? I am featuring one of three images in Bugaboo’s Bella Trio set and also came up with a simple lady bug! Today is “anything but a card, at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog, so please take a moment and see what the other designers have come up with!
My image was sized to 3 1/2 inch square and then printed on to smooth card stock. I used Copic markers which can be found at Scrapbook Pal if you are interested. To construct the lady bug I used Brutus Monroe Foundation Circle dies. I cut out one black and red circle using the (appprox) 4 inch circle and then used the next smallest for the inner red circle. Bella was cut out using my cut n scan. For the wings I cut the large red circle in half and then removed about 1/4in from each (inner) side. I then die cut smaller circles and placed them randomly on the wings. Using a medium circle I attached the head with glue. I then placed a large grommet to hold the pieces together. You have got to check out this heavy duty grommet machine here! For the final bells and whistles I added diamond Stickles and gray tulle. So easy, but so much fun!!!

I love this project! The fact that your focal covers so much real estate is an absolute graphic, visual treat for the eyes! It is like an aperture card without the actual aperture! Thanks for this stunning and unique response to our challenge at A Place To Start!
