Rock On!

Hi there and welcome back! I’m so glad you have stopped by today because I have an 80’s inspired circle easel card to share with you. Most of the products were new to me and I had so much fun getting inky! This card reminds me of my childhood listening to the radio with my finger on record to make my mixed tapes. Lord, knows I spent hours upon days doing that, while having the phone cord wrapped around the room. Those were the days!

My card today features products from Brutus Monroe and my challenge for the Inspiration Team was to showcase the Foundation Circle Dies. These circle dies are great stash builders for beginners to the most advanced crafter. I love how nicely they cut as I only had to run them through my die cutting machine once. Lets get to the card, because I’m dying to share it with you.

To make this card base I used the largest circle from the Foundation Circle die set and scored/folded Raven card stock in half and the then die cut it with the top edge of the circle hanging off a bit so that when you open the pieces they are adjoined. You also need to fold the top layer of the card base in half to mount the the record. Only glue the bottom portion of the record to the base so it pops up. To make the record look real I used, Easy Squeeze Crystal Glue and dashed it across a 1/4th of the circle and then dragged a gift card around it to make the lines in the record. This turned out so cool and I think you can see it better on the angled photo. From there I used the smaller circles to make the rest of the card front. That awesome fella is from the Rock On 6×8 stamp set which I stamped with Raven detail ink and then colored with copic markers. The inside of the card was stamped with the Mixed Tape stamp set with Brutus Monroe Embossing ink and then heat embossed with Raven embossing powder. I then used Surface Sprays in the colors, Jack-o-Lantern, Cabbage, and Aubergine to make the splatters both on the front and inside of the card. Once dry, I die cut the Mixed Tape background with the circle dies and added to the matting. The front sentiment was obtained from stamping the individual letters with Raven detail ink from the Lowercase Alphabet Outline and Fill stamp set. I then free hand the number with a black marker. The very last thing I did was stamp the Guitar Pick with Simon Hurley inks in the colors: Sike, Clear Skies, and Prom Queen and popped it up on foam tape in order to keep the top layer up.
