Winter Queen

Hi there and welcome back to my crafty space!  I have been coloring quite a bit over the last few days as a way to be mindful and take care of “Me”.  I am sharing a card today which stretched me a bit.  I have been fearful of coloring in gray scale which is why I have delayed coloring my Julia Spiri images, but I am so glad I finally took the plunge.  I never truly understood how the “gray” wouldn’t effect the colors and was afraid it would show my errors more.  I actually think coloring this way gave me a lot more creative leeway and had so much fun.  I am very thankful for winning this image as a prize and for the Artist stretching me.  Without further ado…

Products used:  Ivory/ light pool/ cranberry card stock, The Paper Studio Old World Winter dsp,  Julia Spiri Winter Queen stamp, Teal Zeal Memento ink, Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink, Copic markers, white gel pen, Spectrum Noir artliner, Sizzix Dotted Circle die, Altenew Festive Poinsettia stamp set, ivory hemp twine

  1. Oh Joy this is fabulous – gray scale is great to colour as it helps with shading with minimal effort… Love the results of your colouring and the way you have created the card as a whole.
